I was just working on my website, and was thinking back to my “WHY”- I looked up from my desk and noticed on my vision board a cutout that reads:

At that moment I realized that this is something that I have always believed in.

This statement does not refer to finances.

I feel a deep sense of gratitude for having his belief. This belief is a product of how I was raised. I am lucky to have experienced this, and even more to have this belief as part of my DNA. Having this belief has a direct effect on everything we do in life.

We are constantly listening to the voices in our heads, can we afford this?

What will I lose if I try to make this happen? Will this be a colossal failure?

Helping people realize they can ALWAYS afford to dream is a privilege for sure. And it's something I am super comfortable with. Don't get me wrong, I am not cozy with the idea that I could lose it all one day, or that I won’t be able to pay my bills, or anything that could go wrong might actually happen. I am human. At the root, we have to truly understand that the universe we create is the universe we live in.

“The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them.” — Elizabeth Gilbert

The Voices

Let go of the voices.

I hear them too. We all do.

When I was starting out in my professional life I decided not to pursue a career in law, instead, I ventured out of Montreal, and moved to New York to work in Television. I completed my BA in Political Science and Classical Studies. And, turned everything in my world upside down. Some of the voices around me said you will never do it. I decided to ignore them. And went for it. I was laser-focused and lived my dream. In my forties, it was a totally different story. We know more. We have heavier responsibilities. We start to care again what other people think. We become hyper-sensitive because we are more aware. Then at some point, we must remember — “yes, I can afford to dream.” Again, this belief nothing to do with finances. I forgot this. Buried it. But it was always there. My daily rituals brought me back to this bottom belief. (that’s another convo and blog) It can take us lifetimes, or half of our lives to remind ourselves of this salient wonder and truth.

Let’s be kind to ourselves. Let’s open up our minds to endless possibilities.

We can afford to dream.

You can create your own website and logo for minimal amounts. You can enlist in webinars. You can write your blog or a book. You can DO anything you set your mind to do. It’s all waiting for you.

Enjoy the riches of your own experiences and unique qualities to carve out your own space in the universe,
